THE WORLD's FUTURE ENGINEERS

About

FRC team 1015 (our original team number), The Pi Hi Samurai, was founded in 2003 at Pioneer High School. The team competed annually in the FRC program until 2008, after which time the team went defunct due to budget cuts and changes in administration. In the fall of 2013 the team rebooted under a new team number, 1076, to compete in the 2013/4 season of FRC. That year there were 6 students on the team.  In 2014/5 there were 35 students on the team; in 2015/6 there were 42 and this season there are 48 students on the team.  We have 20 mentors who work with our team.  Our team is 75% boys and 25% girls and is made up of 2 seniors, 14 juniors, 17 sophomores, 16 freshmen.

 Mission Statement:

The PiHi Samurai create innovators and leaders by engaging them in fun and safe programs that build science, engineering and business skills and that develop well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, creativity, communication, and teamwork.

Guiding Principles:

1.  We are a team; we support each other and value the free exchange of ideas.

2.  We like to win but it is more important to learn, grow and discover.

3.  We find solutions with guidance from team members & mentors; we teach & learn from each other.

4.  We are STEM role models and are actively involved in our school, community and the world.

5.  We have fun!
